Report issues with barking dogs or other animal noise to Contra Costa Animal Services.

When to report a noisy animal

Contra Costa County Animal Services will take complaints regarding animals barking, howling, crying, or baying when the animal:

• Makes noise continuously for 30 minutes or more
• Makes noise on and off for 60 minutes during a 24-hour period

Consider contacting the animal’s owner before making a complaint with Animal Services.

Making a complaint

Report noisy animals to Contra Costa Animal Services by calling (925) 608-8400 or completing the online complaint form.

You will need to provide:

• Your name, address, and phone number
• The address where the noise is happening
• The date and time of the noise
• Description of the animal
• The name of the person responsible for the animal and where the animal lives
